Hi Gang!
Welcome to our SIXTEENTH Anniversary!!
We're very, very happy to mark our latest milestone with all of you out there from our newbies to the veterans from our pre-DCM
'Golden-age Comics' era back when GAC was born on
July 24, 2006. If you include our GAC time we're almost to our 20th year of sharing public domain comics!
Pretty wild stuff!
--Stats for this past year--
Since our last anniversary we have gained
21266 new members and have
100,110 total on March 28th. We broke the
100,000 member mark sometime this month!

We added
999 new scans during the year and have
23964 total! That's almost TRIPLE the number of new scans we had last year!

--Recapping our past year!--
I think we need to talk about the good and the bad in this recap. We had a horrible year for connection problems. Changing our service provider in April of 2024 didn't help. Issues with connection time-outs and database errors played havoc with the site. Thankfully we never lost any data on the site but we were very aware of how frustrating it was trying to use DCM. It was even more so for the staff trying to keep things going on our end! Finally, thank goodness, in Dec. 2025 we got things back on track. The time-out and database errors were mended and we continue to work on the remaining issues. But the site is once again back on the rails and users out there can use the site on a consistent basis. To all our users out there we're sorry it took so long but happy to see you are sticking by us.And for the best news of the year - we added a LOT of new scans to DCM this year!
Thanks to ALL the scanners and editors out there for making our 16th anniversary a banner year for new scans.
We had several all-star scanners this past year. Each managed to find, scan and share a TON of new scans! We owe them and in TF's case his editors too, a huge thank-you!
Our scanner extraordinaire
Titansfan scanned
over one thousand books this year! His editors are still trying to catch up. Many readers will know TF as a HUGE contributor over the years providing so many scans. Look down to July for some more on his great work.
Mark Bowen continued his run of hard work tracking down rare books adding more sources willing to let him scan their books. He has scanned almost
100 new books this year! He also brought
Ambroise Dipthong Jones and
The Secret Scanp into our fold as new scanners!
lyzardegod also managed to scan about
100 books this year! He covered several publishers but once he got started on a big collection of giveaway comics they would dominate his total.
MarkBoersma was another standout this year with just over
50 new scans being shared! MB concentrated his efforts on precode crime and horror books, neither cheap genres to collect! He shared 13 new scans in October and another 13 in November!
Some notable books from Mark included the last six missing issues of Trojan's
'Crime Mysteries'.
The entire run is IN THIS FOLDER.He did the same for the last missing issues of Story's
'Fight Against Crime'.
The entire run is IN THIS FOLDER. And the last missing issue of Comic Media's 'Horrific'. See October for the link.
And he almost completed Star's
'Thrilling Crime Cases' this year. We only need #45+49 still to finish that title.
You could say we've had several
unofficial spotlights this past year.
'Ajax', 'Fox', 'Giveaways', 'Lev Gleason', Parents Magazines', 'Precode Crime & Horror',
'Star Comics' and
'Topix' with many books of each going up. Thanks to MarkBoersma, Titansfan, lyzardegod, Secret Scanp, Mark Bowen, movielover, David Miles, DaveH and RedRyder for their focus on these genres.
On a personal note - I was particularly happy to see the top two books on my
'Personal Most Wanted for DCM List' get scanned this year! Two I had until now had lost all hope of ever seeing done. Many, many thanks to Darwination and Mark Bowen for finding and scanning them! The first one is coming up next.

Last year on our
15th anniversary we added
36 new scans! Wow! Star scanners that day were
srca1941, Mark Bowen, and
OtherEric. The biggest thrill for me was finally seeing my #1 most wanted book for DCM finally show up. Be sure to check out this extremely rare book -

It was also in July that our MVP scanner
Titansfan found another large cache of comics to scan! He would end up scanning another 700 books! Not all are going to end up on DCM but a number that big is amazing to see! He's been getting most of his edits on them done by
David Miles but others such as
movielover, LG, Snard and myself have pitched in for some. Many still remain to be edited so lots to look forward to in the future!
hufflepuffle sent
Rangerhouse a handful of books to fill holes in the collection.
