We also explain there about scanning your book for posterity.

Hi Gang!
Welcome to our SIXTEENTH Anniversary!!   ;D
We're very, very happy to mark our latest milestone with all of you out there from our newbies to the veterans from our pre-DCM 'Golden-age Comics' era back when GAC was born on July 24, 2006.  If you include our GAC time we're almost to our 20th year of sharing public domain comics!  Pretty wild stuff!  :D

--Stats for this past year--
Since our last anniversary we have gained 21266 new members and have 100,110 total on March 28th.  We broke the 100,000 member mark sometime this month! ;D
We added 999 new scans during the year and have 23964 total!    That's almost TRIPLE the number of new scans we had last year!  :o ^-^

--Recapping our past year!--
I think we need to talk about the good and the bad in this recap.  We had a horrible year for connection problems.  Changing our service provider in April of 2024 didn't help.  Issues with connection time-outs and database errors played havoc with the site.  Thankfully we never lost any data on the site but we were very aware of how frustrating it was trying to use DCM.  It was even more so for the staff trying to keep things going on our end!  Finally, thank goodness, in Dec. 2025 we got things back on track.  The time-out and database errors were mended and we continue to work on the remaining issues.  But the site is once again back on the rails and users out there can use the site on a consistent basis.  To all our users out there we're sorry it took so long but happy to see you are sticking by us.

And for the best news of the year - we added a LOT of new scans to DCM this year!
Thanks to ALL the scanners and editors out there for making our 16th anniversary a banner year for new scans.

We had several all-star scanners this past year.  Each managed to find, scan and share a TON of new scans!  We owe them and in TF's case his editors too, a huge thank-you!

Our scanner extraordinaire Titansfan scanned over one thousand books this year!  His editors are still trying to catch up.  Many readers will know TF as a HUGE contributor over the years providing so many scans.  Look down to July for some more on his great work.

Mark Bowen continued his run of hard work tracking down rare books adding more sources willing to let him scan their books.  He has scanned almost 100 new books this year!  He also brought Ambroise Dipthong Jones and The Secret Scanp into our fold as new scanners!

lyzardegod also managed to scan about 100 books this year!  He covered several publishers but once he got started on a big collection of giveaway comics they would dominate his total.

MarkBoersma was another standout this year with just over 50 new scans being shared!  MB concentrated his efforts on precode crime and horror books, neither cheap genres to collect!  He shared 13 new scans in October and another 13 in November!

Some notable books from Mark included the last six missing issues of Trojan's 'Crime Mysteries'The entire run is IN THIS FOLDER.
He did the same for the last missing issues of Story's 'Fight Against Crime'The entire run is IN THIS FOLDER.  And the last missing issue of Comic Media's 'Horrific'.  See October for the link.
And he almost completed Star's 'Thrilling Crime Cases' this year.  We only need #45+49 still to finish that title.

You could say we've had several unofficial spotlights this past year.  'Ajax', 'Fox', 'Giveaways', 'Lev Gleason', Parents Magazines', 'Precode Crime & Horror', 'Star Comics' and 'Topix' with many books of each going up.  Thanks to MarkBoersma, Titansfan, lyzardegod, Secret Scanp, Mark Bowen, movielover, David Miles, DaveH and RedRyder for their focus on these genres.

On a personal note - I was particularly happy to see the top two books on my 'Personal Most Wanted for DCM List' get scanned this year!  Two I had until now had lost all hope of ever seeing done.  Many, many thanks to Darwination and Mark Bowen for finding and scanning them!  The first one is coming up next.  :)

Last year on our 15th anniversary we added 36 new scans!  Wow!  Star scanners that day were srca1941, Mark Bowen, and OtherEric.  The biggest thrill for me was finally seeing my #1 most wanted book for DCM finally show up.  Be sure to check out this extremely rare book - Darwination's scan of Circus, The Comic Riot 01 (1938-06.Globe Syndicate) - CLICK HERE.   You can read all about last year's anniversary by CLICKING HERE.

--April 2025--
Mark Bowen found another rare expensive one, Captain Marvel Jr. #01 (Fawcett) along with Dark Mysteries #11 (Story).

After sharing some Peter Wheat on our Anniversary, we had our second Peter Wheat Wednesdays Spotlight starting on Apr 16 through the 30th.  OtherEric and Yoc shared six new PW News issues and three upgraded Omnibus volumes.  We would share even more Wednesday updates in August to mark Walt Kelly's birthday.  You can find all our Peter Wheat material in this folder: https://tinyurl.com/2nsmm9n3

Atomic Surgeon shared his first archive on our 15th anniversary.  He continued sharing his Steve Ditko Charlton Archives at various times over the past year with more to come.  All of his impressive collections are up on DCM at this link: CLICK HERE.

We are also very lucky to have Raytus sharing more of his great CNCC Collections of Prize Comics material featuring Simon & Kirby as well as other star artists like Mort Meskin.  You can find all of his equally very professional looking CNCC Collections at this link: CLICK HERE.

--May 2025--
May 3 was Free Comic Book Day and we celebrated the day on DCM with a big bang!  We finally were able to share this very rare 1936 key book (#2 on my most wanted list) - Darwination's scan of Wow - What a Magazine #01 (Henle) featuring very early art by future legends Dick Briefer, Will Eisner, Bob Kane and Basil Wolverton.  It joins Wow #3 as the only two issues scanned of this title.  You can read our special introduction to them by CLICKING HERE.

We also debuted Blue Beetle #58 (Fox) from srca1941 and Unsane #15, a Star one-shot comic from scottsaav.  This was scott's second ever scan.  He added five more risque adult humour books this year to our Misc Section for them HERE.

May 7th was the birthday of noted children's illustrator W.W. Denslow, the original illustrator of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'.  To mark the day we added 15 Denslow books to his own folder AT THIS LINK.

Later BuilderBoy shared a scan of Fantastic Comics #06 (Fox) HERE.  And Devon Baxer shared his first scan for us, Clown Comics #02 (Harvey) HERE.

--June 2025--
Builder Boy shared a lovely new scan of Fiction House's 'Planet Comics #01' to kick off the month. Followed up by Planet 8 next.

Comicwanderer debuted his scan of Planet Comics #08 (FH) HERE.

--July 2025--
The first was Canada Day and to celebrate it we had a Canada Day Mini-Flood of Canadian publisher Superior Comics featuring 30 scans!  You can read all about our Canada Day Mini-Flood by CLICKING HERE.

Mark Bowen continued sharing rarities with Whiz Comics #22 (Fawcett) HERE.  During July and August Mark and new scanner Secret Scanp shared seven issues of Pep Comics by MLJ including the first appearance of Archie Andrews in Pep Comics #22 shared HERE.  More MLJ is coming during our MLJ Mondays this April.

Mark B and Secret Scanp would be busy from July on scanning and editing 36 and counting the past eight months.  RedRyder would edit nine scans.  All of them very cool books too!

It was also in July that our MVP scanner Titansfan found another large cache of comics to scan!  He would end up scanning another 700 books!  Not all are going to end up on DCM but a number that big is amazing to see!  He's been getting most of his edits on them done by David Miles but others such as movielover, LG, Snard and myself have pitched in for some.  Many still remain to be edited so lots to look forward to in the future!  :)

hufflepuffle sent Rangerhouse a handful of books to fill holes in the collection.  Thanks HP!

--August 2025--
In August we continued our great run of new scans with the debut of Builder Boy's Fletcher Hanks -Space Smith Collection.  BBoy produced another superior work focusing on a lesser known space adventurer and his girl.  We highly recommend it.  Click here to find it.

On the 14th agentdynamo shared his scan of Nedor's Thrilling Comics #01 HERE finally letting us remove the fiche only version!

Aug 25th was the great Walt Kelly's birthday and the celebrate it we continued our Peter Wheat Wednesdays for another three weeks.  OtherEric has gone all out over the years to hopefully some day see them ALL scanned and shared on DCM!

MB and movielover shared their Captain Marvel Adventures #13 (Fawcett) HERE at the end of August.

--September 2025--
September was a very busy month for us!  We began our Willie Williams Wednesdays Spotlight on the 9th.  Resharing scans originally posted on Willie's Facebook page over the years.  While mostly partial scans he did share a handful of complete books and enough in total for the spotlight to run clear through to May or June 2026.

agentdynamo then shared his scan of  the very expensive Real Life Comics #03 HERE with the Hitler front cover!

LB Cole's classic spider cover on Startling Terror Tales v1 #11 makes it a very expensive book.  I was thrilled when Secret Scanp let me edit this Star book.  CLICK HERE.

I also did an edit of Secret Scanp's Jackpot Comics #1 (MLJ) - CLICK HERE.

hufflepuffle's huge comic Ribtickler nn (1945) (196pgs!) went up in August.  We had to break DaveH's edit into three parts!  You can get PART ONE HERE.
