Comment: Check out the Henry the Henpecked Rooster story. This series was adapted from Famous Studios' Henry and Herman cartoon series. The comic book stories are funnier than the screen version for there's more emphasis on verbal humor here. However, out of all the major cartoon studios of the '40s and '50s, Famous Studios had a well-deserved reputation for making the most violent cartoons. Some of that violence is present in this issue's story, especially on page 15 when Bertha, Henry's preternaturally strong chicken wife, forces him to wrestle her. The punishment she inflicts upon Henry is of a surrealistic, sadomasochistic nature. I get a kick out of the glee she shows as she beats up Henry.

Comment: Hi Shade, I read that story after you comment and yep, that was pretty surreal. Her joy in hurting the poor husband. Thanks for pointing it out.

Comment: Hi, Yoc. Glad you read it. It's kind of faithful to the cartoons only the comic features more dialogue and the characters are fleshed out better. And you're welcome!
