I question the Mastroserio art credits. A few panels look as if some pencils are Rocke's and other panels may be his inks, but in general there seems to be a wide style variation from page to page and panel to panel. In one or two places, mostly on the Nature Boy figures, the art may be Rocke inking over Buscema pencils; or someone doing a fair job of ghosting the early Buscema style, with Rocke or another Charlton artist providing ink. In one or two places, it looks as if Dick Giordano was involved. I suspect this was an all-hands-on-deck rush job with anyone with a free hour roped into contributing.
On the other hand, the Bob Powell "Pecos Bill" is great fun. Powell's fluid art is perfect for this humor strip. |
