||Twelve year old Greg and his miniature Collie, Nick, are inseparable. The family moved to Detroit months ago for work, sans Nick. Greg's been back in Brooklyn a week to bring him to Detroit. But Nick pushes open the door, and runs afoul of a new govt reg: a dog in public with no muzzle or no leash must be destroyed. Greg bites the dogcatcher, a cop intervenes, Greg apologizes in court, but vows that if they kill his friend, he'll grow up and make it a crime to murder anyone's dog. A lawyer intervenes, and Nick is restored. Big reveal: the lawyer's a U.S. District Attorney.
