||Susan refuses to marry Ted before his overseas military deployment, fearing he’ll be killed. They break up. Vivian, a lady on a nearby park bench, tells Susan the story of her long-ago romance with Jim. She wanted to wait to marry until Jim finished law school and became successful. Vivian turns down other suitors, but Jim never comes back and one day she learns he married someone else. A lifelong spinster now, Vivian urges Susan to marry Ted right away and the young couple is happily reunited. After they’re gone, Vivian greets her long-time husband, Jim. She lied!
