Synopsis: Ellen sees her fiancé Bruce embracing another woman and breaks off their engagement without letting him explain. Her aunt Kate tells Ellen the story of her romance with George. They worked together and Kate fears George robbed the office safe to buy her an engagement ring. George says he got the money by working a second job and breaks up with her because of her distrust. Ellen apologises to Bruce and he has a good explanation for what she saw. They reconcile.

Synopsis: Although she doesn’t love him, secretary June agrees to marry her middle-aged, wealthy boss Grant, under “pressure” from her mother. Shortly before the wedding, June runs into old friend Tim, a Korean war hero pilot. He and June go up in his plane and are forced to crashland in a remote mountain area. Tim, his arm broken, and June are trapped in a cabin by a blizzard and discover they love each other. They’re rescued soon after. Grant breaks their engagement due to the “scandal,” and now June can marry Tim.

Synopsis: Joan leaves her impoverished coal town for the city, hoping “to marry a man with money.” She agrees to date lonely soldier Ted, although he isn’t rich enough for her. They fall in love but she says “I can’t afford the poor in love act.” After they part, Joan realizes she does love Ted after all and decides to apologize. She then learns he’s actually wealthy and Ted thinks this is why she changed her mind. A year later, Ted returns from the service and says Joan’s roommate told him the truth about Joan's decision. They will now wed.
