========
This is sort of a weekly comic strip by Frank Godwin who is better known for his work on Connie and Rusty Riley. He also drew some Wonder Woman stories. It's not exactly a comic strip, but exactly as it says vignettes. It often appeared in the newspaper magazines rather than with the comics. It was printed in color or, in smaller newspapers, in b&w. These are all b&w. They were all extracted from archives by me and cleaned up. Personally I think Godwin's line art is stunning and I only hope I didn't do it too much of a disservice.

I also have all of 1924 to post I hope. It began on June 1st of that year. The only copy of June 15th, titled "The Daily Dozen" that I have is so dark in it's lower right hand corner that I can't read the text to reconstruct. If anyone knows of any newspapers that carried Vignettes of Life that early please let me know. It was syndicated by the Philadelphia Ledger so if anyone can access microfilm of that paper please let me know.

Thanks,
-Jon

Comment: colescomics comment: Fantastic! These are also pretty well written, in addition to having amazing art. Superb job of comics archeology and restoration. I appreciate your fine work, here. For what it's worth, if you are interested in purchasing clipped panels, Elaine Hetschel at hcollectibles (you can Google that and find the site) has some later Vignettes listed. Her prices are very reasonable as they are mostly the same prices set by her late husband, Dick Hetschel, in the late 1970s. I don't think the listed Vignettes are by Godwin. But it's worth emailing Elaine and inquiring about whether she has any from the Godwin years. She has a lot of material that isn't listed on the site. At any rate, great work!
