Prospector Dusty Otis kills a man in the desert for a bag of gold. The victim's ghost takes revenge by letting Otis die of thirst. Every drop of water turns to sand, is salted, scalding hot or vanishes into thin air.
Dr. Albert Carlton drugs himself to death and takes a tourist trip into the realm of death. His colleague will revive him after some minutes, so that Carlton can return and live to tell. There are complications, of course.
