By most definitions, this book qualifies as a Graph Novel.

I lost track of the number of times a chuckled aloud while reading this 107 year old tome.

Interesting. From the cover illustration, I at first thought it was a Spanish translation of the Napoleon and Uncle Elby comic strip, renaming the dog. Carlo looks very much like Napoleon to me, even down to the drawing style. But it looks like this came way before Napoleon was even a gleam in a cartoonist's eye.
