I agree. The other here is stuff is fine.

But this is where Don Heck stood out. His stories with "mundane" settings are, far and away, his best work. Unfortunately, he generally seemed like a fish out of water in "fantastic" stories. With westerns and crime tales he could hold his own with just about anyone you care to name.
