Have both been published by multiple companies. Do we know of any other GA characters that have been published by several companies.

Do you mean during the Golden Age or since? no clue.

Since: lots of them, from AC Comics to Terra Obscura to Project Superpowers.

For lists:

I know that some characters have been used by some more modern companies, but it seems that these are the only two that were published by different companies back in the day.

And a lot of the Project Superpowers, The Twelve, Terra Obscura, etc., haven't had nearly the number of different publishers that these two have. For whatever reason, they appear to be very durable characters.

Off the top of my head, The Wasp, Shock Gibson, and The Clock were produced for more than one GA publisher.  If someone wants to get nit-picky, we could add Cat-Man, Green Turtle, Blue Circle, Captain Wizard, Duke of Darkness, Major Victory, Captain Battle and more to the list depending on what criteria a person wants to use as far as defining what constitutes a "company".

Oh, what a magnificent question! If I only had NINE lives! Where oh where is Mark Carlson when he is so desperately needed? The Magnificent Epod springs to mind easily. There are so many others, but being away from my comics, I can't begin to list them for you. Bernard Baily would move his characters from title to title and company to company on the whim of a paper allowance in 1944 and '45. August Froehlich seemed to maintain some continuity --- but I DON'T have nine lives and I need to clean the apartment, get ready for some friends coming in a half hour and pack for a plane on Sunday. Life goes on despite alluring comic book questions. SOMEBODY FIND MARK!

Oh, and something like "Worldbeater and UNGH"...  well, you DID ask!!!!

That's a good question. One thing I learned from Men of Tomorrow is that what constituted a "company was a pretty fluid concept with some of these publishers as they tried to stay ahead of the Tax Man.

Wonder Boy was pubbed by both Quality and Ajax and whoever did BOMBER COMICS.  The Flame and Samson went thru both Quality and Ajax.  Green Hornet, a licensed character, was pubbed by Helnit, Harvey, Dell, Gold Key, Now, and Dynamite (at least).  Plus we have the Fox / Holyoke / Fox thing, and Charlton taking over Fawcett characters like Nyoka, Ibis, and Hoppy, the Blue Beetle from Fox, Bullseye from Mainline, etc.  You can even put in there Blackhawk and Plastic Man going from Quality to DC (I'm leaving out the Seventies revivals).

Then, of course, there is the Battle Axis, a group of public domain Golden Age characters who were brought together by Roy Thomas for the INVADERS miniseries in 1993.  This group consisted of the Spider Queen, Strongman, the Human Meteorite, Dr. Death, and an android called Reactron.  They battled the Invaders for a three-issue run.
