Who is this artist, who drew several stories in Ziff's "Women in Love"? The listing on CB+ wants to make him Gerald McCann, which I'm sure he isn't.

I feel I should know him, and maybe 30 years ago I would have, but my artist-spotting memory has faded along with the remains of my hair.

It's a "her", Crash. Alice Kirkpatrick, one of the most prolific and underrated artists of the day. She practically single-handedly produced the art for those extended text features in Ace's "Ten Story Love". She was a regular at Quality in the late '40s, often on strips made popular by Al Bryant, whom she could effectively emulate.
