The existing issue was a GM scan.  My scans are of better quality as well as obviously not having the watermark.  I called it an upgrade in the upload, but I guess it could be a diff ver.  For future reference someone let me know if I should use "upgrade" or "diff ver" in the future.  I have some other GM scan upgrades that I'll get to eventually.

Next up: Famous Funnies #190.

Personally I think of upgrades as adding missing pages, replacing a torn p;age, etc, but leaving most pages as is. So I'd say this is a diff version.

I thought about that, but the GM version was c2c as is mine and mine is an improvement over it in both quality and missing watermark so in that regard I thought of it as an upgrade.

The gang was right - as these are completely different scans I renamed your new version 'diff ver' and as the GM scan was no longer needed in that section I moved it to 'Placeholder scans' with other GM books that have been replaced with better, non-watermarked scans.

If someone adds pages or fixes rips, updates the cover with a better version, that kind of thing - then we mark them as -upgrade.

Stay tuned, there might be a lot of upgrades down the road from LOC material.

Hi Kaine,

Welcome to the group.  I was very pleased to see your scan of Jumbo 145.  A small group of us have been focused on Fiction House.  Even after a trip to the Library of Congress there are still books needing fills, namely Jungle 34,93,101,149, and Jumbo 52,53,55,97,142,151.  Maybe you have some of these?

Hi Carl,

I was aware of the Fiction House focus, but unfortunately I don't think I have any from that publisher that needs to be scanned.  I've looked at the "What needs to be scanned" list that movielover keeps to see if there are any that I might have in my collection, but it doesn't look like it.  There were several Jumbo Comics covers that I always liked and that #145 was one of them so when I was buying a number of other books recently I saw that one and had to add it to my collection!  I'd like to help out on some of the Planet Comics that are only available in fiche, but those are some pricey books, or at least the ones that are needed anyway.  I've recently gotten back into buying golden age books so I'm going to more shows than I used to.  I keep several lists on my phone for comics that are needed to be scanned and if I see a Fiction House for sale that isn't too expensive I'll pick it up, but I kind of hate to step into it not know if someone else already has it from LOC and the scans are just waiting on editing.
