Strong Man Archives Corrected
« on: February 19, 2012, 11:39:02 PM »
Looking at my original upload I saw that my intro piece had dropped a couple of paragraphs.  I rewrote the intro and added a credit for the original scanners.  STRONG MAN was a favorite comic book of mine based on only ever seeing one issue, before I found the other 3 at DCM.  Art by the great Bob Powell was a major draw, but what made the strip interesting was that Strong Man was not a super hero, although he did find himself battling crooks, spies and natural disasters, and he wasn't the usual all brawn and no brains strongman; he had skills learned from all kinds of circus people.  It's well worth a read if you like solid adventure stories and Powell's artwork.  I wish Dark Horse would collect some of his stuff in hc as they have Jesse Marsh and Russ Manning.

They have collected all of his Thun'da stories (along with those by Frazetta) in one archive edition.

Best
