Enough with the manly hugging now!

Valentine's over and it's back to business: Horror.

WEIRD ADVENTURES #3

are here, a very obscure, but interesting pre-code horror book.
Nothing fits together in this issue.
Four very different stories, executed in four quite different styles.

There's a time for war and a time for romance.
And I decided it's time for war again:

Time to show you one more of these (shockingly badly printed!) Fawcett experimental issues:

And a last one from that series.

Yo, guys! With

UNDERWORLD CRIME #6

We COMPLETE another series.

Signing off for the weekend, I’m going to Brussels, Belgium.
There’s a trash film festival (the “Offscreen”, believe it or not) and I’ve got tickets for an evening with John Waters!
Jeezerella! These comic books put you in the right mood, don’t they?
Us Europins, we love our slice of sleaze, that’s why Europe is a giant Eurotrash theme park.
Kidding, of course.
We go very sophisticated about our trash.

Time for another Fawcett horror replacement/enhancement scan.

THIS MAGAZINE IS HAUNTED #9

Existing version is barely okay.
Well, I'm back from Brussels, Belgium, where I witnessed John Waters perform his stand-up routine.
Quite... special, but enjoyable all the less.

What even flashed me more was seeing the movie THE WIZ, a 1978 funk/ soul/ disco version of THE WIZARD OF OZ, starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Director Sidney Lumet very cleverly shifted the original into a new contemporary dimension. The Emerald City being the Big Apple, the Flying Monkeys a biker gang, the poppy field an eros center... and so forth. Knocked my socks off. Masterful.

But I had never heard of that before. Did some of YOU knew about this movie?
Just wondering - and marveling.
