While I was thrilled to see more of Stars & Stripes #6 turn up here last week, I remain fairly certain that the Amazing-Man story that we have in the incomplete Amazing-Man Comics #26 is actually the story from S&S #6. The collectors-society.com site has photos of the cover and first two stories from AMC #26, and that features a 13 page story in which Aman fights Dr. Mord and his trained vultures. This both matches the cover of #26 (admittedly, something of a rarity for that series), and the story page count listed by the Grand Comic Book Database. Our version of #26 has a story involving a copper price fixing scheme, and is only 9 pages long, the length the Database lists for the Aman feature in S&S #6. Certainly, it's possible that the Database is wrong, or even that our version is missing 4 pages, I strongly suspect that it's just in the wrong file.
Also, somewhere on-line, I've seen a Mighty Man & Super-Ann story in which Ann's mother is kidnapped by gangsters who force Ann to work for them. Since I don't recall seeing this story in any of our other issues of either title, I'm pretty sure that must be one of the missing stories from S&S #6, since I think that's the only Super-Ann story that's missing here. Unless, of course, I'm confused and that story is here somewhere and I just blanked on it.
That's my case. What does everyone else think?
