Hi folks,
We seem to have the "Your Laundry Here" variant cover pasted onto a JVJ/narfstar/builderboy c2c scan of Funny Picture Stories v2#7 (
http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=12477 ). I've emailed Jim V., Jr. to confirm (narfstar did not recall anything special about this one), but I am fairly certain this is a bad splice. Heritage shows the laundry variant here:
http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=16101&lotNo=16162claiming 16 interior pages, including the laundry text appearing inside.
I have a paper copy of v2#7 (regular version- missing part of the front cover, but enough is present to confirm it's the normal one) which matches exactly the scanned interior.
I notice that the file name for the cover posted here is "1306549973Funny Picture Stories v2 07 pg01 HA.jpg" with a rather suspicious "HA" (=? Heritage Auctions?) tacked onto the end. Close examination shows that both the Heritage cover and the one here have a diagonal crease running from the spine to the left of the "P" in "Picture" up through that letter, then through the "F" and "U" of "Funny" to the top edge. There's otherwise been well-done photoshop cleanup on it, but that plus some other things (horizontal black marks in "Funny") line up quite well.
Builderboy or anyone else know the history here?
thanks,
-henry
