Jim Shooter has passed away:

I feel a little bad suggesting he did his best work when he was a teenager, but his early run on the Legion was absolutely amazing, one of the first to bring some of the Marvel Sensibility over to DC. Thrilling and fun and with a sense anything could happen, including characters dying, and various clever twists. One of my all-time favorite comic book runs. He managed to annoy a lot of pros and some fans, but he did a lot of good comics as both writer and editor.
