Herb Trimpe
« Reply #107 on: April 15, 2015, 09:44:50 AM »
Herb Trimpe passed away Monday evening.
He will be missed.
I was fortunate to have corresponded a few years ago on line with him.

In the near future I was hoping to have him do some simple drawing for me of some of his past work.
The "Phantom Eagle" from Marvel Super Heros, a Ant Man and the Hulk.
Now I will do these drawing myself and post them later here online.
I started collecting the Incredible Hulk at about #155 as a young man, and absolutely loved his work.

Though not comic related directly, Grace Lee Whitney has passed away at the age 85.
She was everyone's favorite yeoman....(at least mine!)

U.S. readers were denied the chance to get to know Air Hawk back in the day. According to John Ryan American syndicates believed their customers had zero interest in adventures of non-Americans. Now, if you moved the strip to the U.S. southwest…

Flaming idiots!

Dixon, like most of the early comic creators Down Under, did it all, writing, art & lettering. Cat-Man, Phantom Commando, Tim Valor, the Crimson Comet, just to hit his main creations.

Seymour Moskowitz 95, of Thousand Oaks, comic book artist, died 7/1/2015.

http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/venturacountystar/obituary.aspx?n=d&pid=175241978

Worked for most of the major comic book companies during the early to mid '50's, Charlton, Gilberton, and Marvel. All types of stories, crime, horror, sci-fi, war, mystery and western. Never worked for DC as far as what was listed for him.

Our prayers go out to the family at this time.

Sad news indeed, a true loss of one of the "Great Ones" of comics. He will be missed. :'(
