SIMBA, THE AMAZON
PAGE ONE:

Caption: One morning . . .
Simba: AHOOO!
Frame Two:
Loto: That's Simba's call! I thought she was still asleep.
Frame Three:
Loto: Where is she?
Frame Four:
Simba: Here I come!
Frame Five:
Simba: Good morning, Loto!
Loto: The jungle sun's kind to you.

Simba: What've you made for breakfast?
Loto: Fried python.
Frame Seven:
Simba: Wonderful! I'm starving!
Frame Eight:
Simba: Have you seen Tao?
Loto: No, he's late for breakfast. Is he over . . .
Frame Nine:
Caption: Tao is an enormous orangutan who Simba freed from a trap and who has become the girl's constant companion. He can understand and obey her commands [Translator's note: In Part Two of this four-part story arc, Tao is clearly machine-gunned down, yet in Part Three he gets up again as if he has just been sleeping. Another classic error of the times!].
Frame Ten:
Tao: GUEE...
Simba: You're always so friendly, Tao. What is it you're carrying?
Frame Eleven:
Simba: Another gift? Pay attention, Tao: On Sumday, some Kirvalan natives disappeared from their village.

Frame Four:
Record: Love ya, love ya, honey . . .
Frame Five:
Simba: Wonderful . . . but I'll never leave my jungle! Why has poor Tao gone ape?
Loto: The answer's simple, darling. He's grateful to you for freeing him from that trap and allowing him to live freely in the jungle.
Frame Seven:
Simba: Throw that thing away, Loto! Our home may have been invaded by the Axis powers.

Tao: Uuuuhh!

Frame Three:
Simba: Looks like that tiger has the same idea. [Translator's note: Tiger's can swim, but don't usually bathe in real life!]

glammazon:
Frame Five:
