AC Comics reprints Centaur stories
« on: September 22, 2010, 12:24:19 PM »
Just saw this mentioned elsewhere on the 'net (firstcomicnews.com).  Being a "Centaur Comics" fan myself, and knowing there are others here that feel the same way, I thought I'ld mention this:

AC Comics' "MEN OF MYSTERY 83" features 11 reprints from "Centaur Comics", including two Amazing-Man stories and one story each of The Arrow, Fantoman, The Shark, Airsub DX, Rainbow & Black Panther (wonder what stories they'll be reprinting for these two characters?*), Reef Kinkaid, Mighty Man and The Blue Fire.

The issue also includes other reprints as always is the case with this title.

* That's a joke (a weak joke, but still ...).  If you don't get it, you're not a fan of "Centaur Comics".

Very sweet... would be nice if they were Arrow or Fantom Stories I don't have.

I am surprised that Masked Marvel - Blue Lady (since she is pretty much Centaur's only stand alone female character) or Minimidget isn't on that list. Certainly over characters like Rainbow, Blue Fire and Black Panther.

Just me...

They might be saving Masked Marvel, Minimidget & Blue Lady for a follow-up or future issues, or they simply don't have access to any of those stories (which I'ld actually find hard to believe).

My guess with Fantoman, based on how AC refers to him, is that they might be publishing a later story rather than an earlier "Fantom of The Fair" tale.

Although I'm interested to see what, if any, kind of write-up AC gives "Centaur" in this issue, I can't justify paying about $25 for B&W reprints, over half of which (the non-Centaur stories) I'm not interested in seeing (because I probably already have seen them in cbr files).  If the entire issue was nothing but "Centaur Heroes", then maybe I would spend the money AFTER I made sure I was getting something I haven't already seen.

I couldn't agree more.

I'd sooner save my money and hit MSU and their comic archives and spend the cash getting replicas of them than to chance spending cash on something I already have (My only reason TO buy it would be only to support more reprints of Centaur stuff).
