I read about this site elsewhere and registered. I hope I can hold up my end of the deal.
I was born in "The Silver Age' but there were still enough people around to remember "The Golden Age" and write enough about it to peak my interest. if there had been an internet back then and sites like this, I could foresee having gone in another direction and developed a penciling or inking career. Alas, it was not so, so I am living this timeline.
Recently I was researching to begin a blog that I have put off for years about newspaper comic strips and was reminded of the connections between comic strips and the early comic books, which in many cases reprinted the strips. That is what led me here.
I'm active under different usernames on the internet, so that may be the same with others here. Real Life has gotten busy in recent months, so I may be here sporadically. In the meantime, I'm glad to have joined up.
I'll have to find an approriate obscure Golden Age hero/ine to use as my avatar. My favorite DC and Timely characters from that era are Doctor Fate and The Vision, but that may be too "mainstream" for your tastes here. I have been fascinated with Golden Age Canadian comic book publishing, not because I'm Canadian, but because when I was semi-active in fandom in the 1980's, I had the privilege to corresponded with "The Map Maple" or "T.M. Maple."
