;D Hello from a new member. I found your site from a link at BoingBoing and your site is a treasure trove of wonderful things. I vaguely remember the 50's and being severely disciplined for filching a comic from a drugstore rack (with my mother in attendance) when I was about 5. That put an end to my budding life of crime and comics reading. I did become a rabid S/F reading fan though. I started keeping an eye peeled for older comics on-line about two years ago because I stumbled into a few and they were so cool. They are like a lens into an alien culture. I don't have any paper comics to scan and I have few older comics in digital form. Your site is amazing! I won't be uploading but I sent you a small donation and will do so again. Thank you for preserving this extraordinary treasure.

Hi - I just joined this site.  It's amazing - I never saw so many golden Age comics!  I came here following a link from the Comicopolis website
www.comicopolis.ning.com   I'm from Birmingham, England.

Great to be here - surrounded by kindred spirits.  My first love is actually the Silver Age, but there are plenty of earlier comics here that I never saw before that I shall really enjoy reading. Thanks for making this facility available.  One question - are there any women members - or is collecting comics strictly a male occupation?

Welcome Steven.
There are female members - one is an admin and co-founder of DCM.   But there aren't that many.
If you check the More Stats area at the bottom of the forum homepage you can learn a lot about or numbers including a 22:1 male to female ratio.

Enjoy discovering all the goodies!

Delighted. I noticed my registration was back in March which must have been when I first read about this sit at GAC. But I don't remember actually looking around you know. I'm always delighted to talk about comics and other hobbies of mine. Thank you  :)

Hello. This site is great. I'm trying to find some comics I remember from when I was a kid. When I was about 9 years old, in the early 60s, there used to be second hand shop where I'd get old raggedy comics from the 50s. Does anyone else recall a 1950s science fiction comic (probably Charlton) in which one of the stories showed two spacemen searching for a fabulous space city of gems and precious treasure. They crash land and, to their amazement, find the wonderful city they've been searching for. Then they remember the legend said that you can't find that city until you're dead. They look at each other saying, "But we're not dead...  ...or are we???"

Another one I'm searching for had a story in which giant robots, probably drawn by Gil Kane, roamed the land.

I'm always looking around for any reference to these two comics and a third one I always remember (also probably Charlton or maybe E.C.) where a spaceman from the future falls through a timewarp and ends up begging for pennies on a 20th Century street corner. Ring any bells?
