Hi -I'm new here.
Was thinking of making a comic/text adventure type of program, parser based, using my Windows text adventure program.
My question to the knowledgeable: Can I freely copy and use the pics from a public domain comic strip in my adventure game - which would be free to download and play offline?
I'm not good at doing art or gfx, I'm afraid.
Idea is that the player would interact with the game (story could be expanded with more text; objects; locations; puzzles etc) and progress through the comic strip's original pictures sequentially by solving problems etc.

Btw, my favourite comic was "Buster" (UK) in the mid-1960's and my fave comic strip from that was "Maxwell Hawke - Ghost Hunter" so I'd love to do something in that genre or SF...
