Very interesting. Dated 1933. A comic book from before comic books really existed.

Did these folks do any others?

Thanks to all concerned for sharing!

Wow! What a rarity. And as an extra bonus, an old Comic Book Marketplace article on the comic and the publishers' history was also included at the end. Much appreciated!

Thanks to those who got this book available to us. I have looked for it for years.

There are a couple of key early comics that I've never been able to find: Eastern Color's 1933 "Funnies on Parade" promo comic (and its successors) and Dell's 1933 "Famous Funnies: A Carnival of Comics." We recently, thanks to Soothsayr and Movielover, were able to see Eastern Color's "Famous Funnies 001," another key early comic.

Again, thanks to all who contribute such wonderful material!

Glad everyone is enjoying this!

Doc - that's NOT an old Comic Book Marketplace article.  I produced the intro as a background piece and quoted the CBM#36 article.  Humor Publishing did three books total but this is the only one scanned so far.

Pleased to see this, and I echo the comments of others here. Thanks to Rupp Comics (and I presume the owners and staff), and to all that brought this chicken home to roost. Yoc, I look forward to reading your piece.

Ive looked for this more than anything. Congrazs! The art is terrible and the story poor; but this is the first comic book--considering the first must be that with the first original characters.
