I would like to say thank you JVJ and supporters for sharing these rare treasures, I also would like to say I hate to complain about something offered for free, but in my opinion the snard scans leave a little to be desired. I have had to pass on some of the St. John romance titles scanned by snard and posted here within recent months due to the scans being a too dark. Perhaps it is my eyes that have a problem?

This is probably not the optimal place to argue over scanning, but I found Snard's scans on this comic to be clear, crisp, and consistent. Admittedly, I prefer raw scans over color-corrected ones, so maybe these look more "real" to me than some overly "corrected" scans that try to match a subjective notion of what the original freshly-printed comic might have looked like. But if every comic on DCM were of this quality, I'd be a happy camper.

Your support for a fellow scanner is admirable and once again I thank EVERYONE who has participated in sharing these comics. My criticism was perhaps a little overstated, and for that I apologize. I have edited my original comment to reflect a more balanced critique.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I appreciate the feedback and critique.

And, by the way, this is an open invitation on any JVJ scan you see that has my name on it. I've saved my raw scans, and will happily send them to anyone who feels they can do a better editing job than I did.

Late to the party, I know, but I wanted to add the obvious: that your monitor, your comics reading software, and your personal preference can all greatly affect how scans look. As for the quality of the edits, well--you can't really judge that until you've seen the originals. The final result is all you have, and these look fine to me.

Found a batch editor that adjusts the scans to my liking, they ARE super scans after all, thanks Snard!

Scott: Now you have me interested. What batch editor are you using? I occasionally have to adjust some of the scans here, not because of any deficiencies in the digital product, but because I have some weird color vision deficiencies that make some comics hard for me to read. At the same time, I recognize from what others post that my experience doesn't match that of others. If I had an editor that could render these a bit more closely to what my vision will accept, it would be a nice extra.
