Art apologizes and reconciles with his wife.

Synopsis: Nancy was raised by her older sister Sue after their parents are killed. Home from college on vacation, Nancy meets Sue’s boyfriend Jim and sets her cap for him: "I want that man, he’s just my type!” When her efforts to romance him fail, Nancy lies and tells Sue that Jim made a pass at her. Sue, upset, runs outside and is struck by a car. Sue is blinded and Nancy offers to donate one of her corneas. However, before the operation begins, a doctor discovers Sue’s eyesight can be saved. A repentant Nancy can now find romance with her longtime admirer Bob.

Abby’s mother insists Abby accept in a role in a musical and Jed breaks up with her. Abby is a success but hates her life; she runs away. Her mother tracks her down and compels her to return to the stage, but Abby breaks her ankle and can no longer perform. Abby and Jed are reunited and Abby’s mother apologizes for her dominating ways.

Hilda falls in love with Roger and they decide to get married, but Mac shows up and reveals Hilda’s past. Roger doesn’t believe Hilda really loves him and dumps her. A depressed Hilda quits her job--“I’m no good to you or even myself”--and plans to kill herself by jumping into the river, but Roger shows up and they reconcile.
