Marcia is acquitted of her husband Martin’s murder through the efforts of lawyer Steve. Steve loves Marcia but she thinks he killed Martin. Marcia tells her story to a psychiatrist: Steve was her childhood friend who loved her, but she’s married to the abusive fortune-hunter Martin. Steve defends her, and Martin was later found dead. The psychiatrist finds a hidden diary which somehow explains that Martin accidentally shot himself. Marcia and Steve are now free to love each other.
Pete is an American soldier stationed in occupied Germany. He and local girl Lisa fall in love. Pete wants to marry her and bring her to the USA, but he finds some Nazi documents in her house and thinks her family was involved with them. They quarrel. Pete’s commanding officer says Lisa’s father is a scientist working for the Americans and that’s why he had the documents. Pete and Lisa reconcile and will wed when she and her father emigrate to the USA.
Office worker Julie and Johnny fall in love on a skiing excursion to Vermont, but she thinks her co-worker Betty is trying to steal him away. Julie flirts with the other men which makes Johnny jealous. He explains Betty introduced him to a friend who had a business proposition for him. Julie and Johnny reconcile.
Socialite Toni and her friends go to a nightclub but are asked to leave when they drunkenly heckle the band. Toni returns to apologize to musician Guy and they fall in love. Toni’s mother opposes the match because Guy isn’t high-society. Toni’s father offers Guy a job and gets him an invitation to the country club to improve his social status, but Guy can’t stand being away from music. Toni breaks up with him. Guy becomes a successful composer and Toni’s father helps get them back together.
