Great work, and thanks to all concerned. It is perhaps ironic that in a forum dedicated to preserving old comics, the first story includes burning old nitrate movie film as a plot element. As I was reading, I couldn't stop wondering what movies they made have been burning!

Movies to burn.  I'd suggest "Transylvania 6-5000" and "Three Amigos".  But that's just me.
