Greetings from France
« on: May 29, 2014, 04:16:39 AM »
Hi !

My name's Olivier. I'm 40 years old. I am deeply fan of pen and paper RPG (Dungeons & Dragons, "Marvel Super Heroes"), fantasy novels and comic-books. I appreciate silver age comics above all, especially artists like Jack Kirby, Art Adams, Sal et John Buscema, John Romita Sr, John Byrne and many others.

I've bought recently Jack Kirby's complete "Kamandi Archives", translated in french by Urban Comics. Two thick volumes, approximatively 800 pages (I'm HAPPY !!)

My favorite heroes are the "classical" (ie 60's & 70's adventures) Spiderman and Fantastic Four. Thor is a great character too. And Iron Man. And.... Well, I deeply love the heroes and vilains created by Stan Lee.

I also like a few modern comic books : "Punisher Max" (the volumes written by Garth Ennis), "Invincible", "Savage Dragon"... But anyway, my favorite modern comics are those with a Silver Age feel like "Marineman" and "astro City" (Kurt Busiek rules !!!).

I've discovered DCM through a google+ rpg page (here: https://plus.google.com/108359476341374487591/posts) where I found a link which brought me here : http://www.clubic.com/internet/actualite-688078-musee-virtuel-comics-15-000-bd-telechargement-gratuit.html

And here I am.

 :D

PS : above all, I do cherish Captain America (the real one ! Not the "Ultimates" version). A really great-super-hero.

Welcome to the fold Oliver.
You will find Kirby and some of the others you mentioned sprinkled in our collection.
The earliest Kirby in comics can be found in the BLUE BOLT early issues found here - http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=206
If you are interested in Capt. America you might find MLJ's 'Shield' character interesting.  He predates Capt as the first American patriotic hero by some months.  He's in the first issue of PEP Comics you can find here - http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=48

Enjoy the goodies,
