Comment made at: Mystery Men Comics 003Zanzibar the Magician was disappointing in his third appearance. But the slack was taken up by Rex Dexter of Mars, where the art and delirious plot are working together better than ever, and that panel with the giant's eyeball was amazingly gruesome. Everything else was so so or less. One possible interesting thing is that on the inside front cover they announce the winners of the $1 letter writing contest. One of those winners is William Blatty of New York City. This might be the first paid writing of William Peter Blatty who would have been around 12 at the time and lived in New York City, and might have been nourishing his imagination with Mystery Men.
