theorbys wrote this about the old #1:
Reads more like a Silver Age comic than GA, which for some reason makes all the giant robots and hypnorays more believable.  I enjoyed this comic a lot, especially after the set up story.  And the Mirror Man, more like a mirror monster, but he's called Mirror Man, really is a great monster.  I believe Capt. Flash and his nonsuper sidekick Ricky were influential on the soon to be appearing DC Flash and Kid Flash but there are some elements of Solar too, and there is a swipe or two from Capt. Marvel. Anyway I can't wait to see the follow-up of the Mirror Man story in issue 2.   The amiable back-up feature is a teen age girl, Tomboy, who fights crime with wits and fists, and reminds me of the French Fantomette.  Which may have been inspired by this short lived comic.
