#5!
I strive for quality not quantity in the books that I have collected over the years.
On the bottom you can see two of the Prince Valiant books that Nostalgia Press put out in the 70's! I just love those books!
I picked up the Boys Ranch reprint recently that had a insert on Joe Simon stationary signed by him! I don't think the seller ever opened up the book!

Hi B,
Thanks for the pics.  This reminded me of the old 2013 'Shelf Porn' topic over here -

We got to know Cimm has an amazing collection there,

I checked out the other link - WOW!!
That is some collection there man.  Love the Boba Fett with Evil Knievel colours.  The life size Cylon mask is new to me.
The 8-track tapes is a sneaky one to include.  Oh, there are the Micronauts!  Ha, I had the same green flying lizard guy.

You sir, look like a kid of the late 70s/80s.  Nicely done collection!

Sounds like a plan to me.  It's amazing you've found a home for that much in one room.
But where is the Katy Keene cut-outs?  Behind the hidden door?

I don't have a room for my comics, most of them (single issues anyway) are on shelves in the basement. (Well away from any water source mind you...) What is odd about my collection is that I don't use comic bags. Instead I use binders and acid free page covers. Golden and Silver Age all get boards, only certain (usually more valuable) bronze-modern books have them. The binders kind of serve the same purpose and take up less space.

A sampling from one of my Golden Age binders.

A couple of general shelf pictures from a while ago. I started out hand labeling the binders with masking tape and eventually switched to a label maker.

Most books are sorted by title. Series that are too short (mini-series, specials, or ones I don't otherwise collect) are usually combined into "group binders." For instance, I have "Misc. DC," "Misc. Marvel," "Misc. Charlton," "Misc. Golden Age," "Superman Related," "Justice League Related," etc. I also keep a cache of unread books (which are a respectable collection unto themselves). So if I have a whim to read, say Fantastic Four, or something from the Silver Age, I just pull one out.

Then there are some series where I've been working on complete runs before I start reading them. Legion of Super-Heroes was one such book. I always liked the Legion, but hadn't really planned on collecting it. Then I started seeing a lot of them in quarter and fifty cent bins, and pretty soon had a pretty good collection going. After a period of buying them and then not reading them and noticing that my collection was getting pretty complete, I decided to start reading them in order from the point where the book splits from Superboy, filling in gaps with Lone Star. These were my unread LSH books a year or two ago, the collection has grown quite a bit since then.

Hi Eric,
Nice work there.  I too had some binders for select series but mostly used the old long boxes for easy access.
DCM staffer OtherEric is a huge LOS fan.  He owns every appearance from their first appearance.
