Harvey's Strange Story #1

Hi,

I'm looking for any additional information concerning Harvey's Strange Story #1, July 1946, which introduced The Man in Black (as mentioned by Wikipedia, leastways). I've located the cover here: http://www.jhalpe.com/artists/view/264 & according to the GCD one story, Evil Essence, which was reprinted in Lorne-Harvey The Silver Scream #1 -- http://www.comics.org/issue/276236/. I can find no other information as to the contents. Was this issue ever published?

Even for pre-code, that is one weird story.

The GCD link seems to suggest that Strange Story #1 was never published.  Unfortunately your story from Silver Scream falls outside our 1959 cut-off date.  It's an interesting topic.  Thanks very much for starting this.
