Characters of the "Golden Age of Comics"
« on: August 05, 2015, 08:09:22 PM »
Hello to everyone,

I have a "theoretical" question for you guys...

Would you be interested in a character statue or bust of some of the characters of "The golden Age of Comics"? (assuming if they would exist and would be a very good quality like the Bowen or Sideshow statues)

For those who don't know about these characters, there are some examples...

Your answers are more than appreciated...
Thank you!  :)

You certainly picked characters with good visuals. Nice rendering, BTW.

I don't much follow this area of comic related products, for want of a better term. The few I have seen at cons are nice, but way out of my price range. What size and price points are you considering? Also what process? Casting? 3D printing?

There are at least two others out there producing golden-age themed hero sculptures.

Ya know, I never noticed before, but the modern "ideal superhero look" is strangely out of place with some of these GA characters.   I mean, how do they find the time to be superheroes if they never leave the gym?

Just kidding folks. :)

Hi erwin-k,
it would be 1:4 scale (if original character is say 2 meters, the statue will be 50 cm). Regarding the process - make the master using traditional sculpture or 3D software, and use traditional casting or 3D printing and casting.  Cannot say a price range yet because I am still evaluating the costs, logistics, etc.

Hi Drusilla lives!
Thank you for respond. By the way, do you know how looks the first Superman that appeared in a comic in comparison with the today's Superman? Here are images showing how the character changed over the years...

Golden Age Figurines
Have donated figures to DCM twice for donation drives over the years.

A kickstarter was started by another company here.

This guy does paper dolls of GA heroes that are strangely cool.

Yes, interesting projects, both of them...I knew about the one of the figurines and Kickstarter...In my case I find only three figures more related to the project I have in mind. One is the Daredevil made by Randy Bowen...

and the other two are the Black Terror and Daredevil made by Dynamite...

Love Bowen's $$$ work.  Can't say I like the modern Black Terror much but the Daredevil bust s pretty cool.

I hope I haven't offended you Luciano.  Actually, in a way, my comment should be thought of as a compliment.   :)
