Photos of Iger shop personnel
« on: November 20, 2014, 06:54:04 AM »
From Roy Thomas:

Hi List--

Hames Ware has come up with what he considers his more or less
definitive listing of the personnel of the S.M. "Jerry" Iger comic shop
from the early 1940s through the end, as well as when they worked there,
etc.; It will be published in the third and final volume of PS
Artbooks' "Roy Thomas Presents RULAH - JUNGLE GODDESS" (because all the
art and writing for that late-40s Fox series was done by the Iger
shop). The book will be out next year; Vol. 1 is scheduled to come out
this spring, following a three-volume run from PS of SHEENA. I'd love
to get as many photos of the Iger personnel in there as I can get, and I
wonder if anyone can help me obtain photos of any of the following:

Robert Hayward Webb (besides school photo, which I've published thanks
to Shaun Clancy--and I also have a photo of him and his family in his
boat, which was printed in ALTER EGO #21 after it appeared in Jay
Disbrow's book
THE IGER COMICS KINGDOM... just wondered if there was anything else)
David Heames
Ann Brewster
Ruth Harris
Henry Carl Kiefer (David Saunders has kindly helped me with one from
1922... although of course one from the 1940s would be even better,
though David will receive a copy of the book)
Gustav Schrotter
Jack Hearne
Arnold Lorne Hicks
Harvey K. Fuller
Nina Allbright
Burt Frohman
Jack Kamen (vintage photo besides the oft-reprinted EC one)
Al Feldstein (ditto)
Ed Waldman
Homer Fleming
Ken Battefield
Ray Osrin
Edmund Good
Bruce Darrow
Hal Fromm
Chet Blaski (aka Martin)
Bill L. Cava
John Thorntone
Dick Giordano (YOUNG--besides the one I have from TREASURE CHEST)
Murray Tinkleman
Sal Trapani (young--I have one of him in 1972, want from 50s)
Harry Belil

--not to mention T.T. Scott, Fiction House publisher!

Naturally, for the FIRST person who supplies me with any image I don't
already have, I'll try to arrange to get you a copy of the hardcover.
If I'm inundated with photos (though I doubt I will be), I may have to
substitute some ALTER EGO issues instead... but I'll do my best and I'll
appreciate any help you can give, as will the hard-working Hames.

Best wishes,
Roy
