It sure feels like one of the Holyoke One-Shot books though don't it?
Jim, we are trying to follow GCD's lead on these as we hope to one day add their data to our entries with an automated script.
No eta on when that might happen.
JVJ (RIP):
Yoc, I'll give you a small clue: GCD is not infallible and their calling this a Fox title does not make it so. All of the artists in this book are Holyoke artists - including BB. With the exception of the Blue Beetle, all of the characters in this book are Holyoke characters. YOU could tell GCD that they are in error and ask them to relist the publisher based on those features. Or not. As I've said many times, Fox was a pariah and Holyoke was a printer, so I don't have enough personal interest in GCD's filing slot to invest the time and energy to fix the error.
ML: Fox, when re-acquiring the rights to his Blue Beetle character in 1944, would in no way have suddenly found himself in possession of rights to Ali Baba, nor ESPECIALLY would he have had Blue Beetle drawn by Alex Blum, that stalwart of the Iger Shop. Fox and Iger and were pretty much at loggerheads in 1944. No, this is Holyoke, done before Fox got his character back and probably published to get as much mileage as Holyoke could get from BB because they knew the hand over was coming up. My 2ยข, FWIW.

jrvandore:
Just to follow up from a GCD perspective: It looks like from our GCD records that Real Hit was placed under Fox way back in the Stone Age of the GCD based on Keltner's and no one has since done anything to change that. However even in our GCD listing we say it is probably not Fox, but rather Holyoke. I started a thread on the GCD discussion list to see if there are any objections to moving this.
By the way, the GCD discussion list is open to anyone. You dont have to be an indexing member to be a member of the email list. The more knowledge we get participating, the better. I say this because it sometimes seems like fandom thinks of the GCD as a closed boys club, particularly when people say things like "the GCD says this" or "the GCD doesn't understand how this company worked." I'd say today that the GCD is much more accessible than in its Stone Age and very much looking for new points of view and additional sources of information.
