If I may digress -- I used to live in Sonoma County CA near Charles Shultz's longtime home. Schultz put a lot of money into the county. He built a professional ice rink (and subsidized some fabulous exhibitions); next door is the impressive Snoopy Museum, on a site with weird linkage to Mormon history. He also financed the Canine Companions for Independence campus. A small statue of Snoopy was erected in Railroad Square in downtown Santa Rosa, attracting many busloads of (mostly Japanese) tourists. The county airfield is familiarly known as Snoopy International Airport. Et cetera. Shultz was a good neighbor. But he was never sloppy with copyrights; neither are the current IP owners.
