Russ Cochran's Sunday Funnies
« on: January 08, 2012, 01:07:14 PM »
 Hey there,

I decided to send Mr. Cochran the $39.00 for the first three isues of the Sunday Funnies publication he's putting out. He's presenting a 32-page reprint of Sunday strips, in this case, from the early 20th century.  There are a few weeks worth of Ally Oop, Gasoline Alley, Tarzan, Krazy Kat, and others in each issue.  They've been photographically rendered, and have not had garish color enhancements done to them. It looks like you have 80 year-old comics in front of you.

I went for ambience, and poured a cup of coffee before laying on the living room floor to read.

It's the best $39.00 I've spent in quite some time.  I read the first issue and glanced at the other two.  I'm so impressed that I'm going to wait for the next two Sundays for a good read of the other two.  Sort of savoring the experience.  Sounds hoaky, but man, what a pleasant buzz.

I've got to recommend this one to you most highly.

Sounds nice Dave.
I see full Sunday sections being shared on Yahoo time to time.  Digital files only of course.

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea Russ Cochran had a new publishing project! I've greatly enjoyed his work over the years. I wish I had the available funds for this project... it sounds wonderful. I enjoyed visiting his site and prowling through his auction... looks liek he's getting that online, now, too. Some nice original art going pretty cheap, seems like!
