SIMBA THE AMAZON II
« on: October 13, 2011, 04:44:07 PM »
As promised, here is Part Two of the Italian (not Spanish as I had originally thought) comic, The Blonde Panther.  As before, the goal is for the comic to be properly translated to English once it is put up at this site.  I am again using her other name, Simba.

SIMBA THE AMAZON II

Translation (c) 2011 by Anthony Durrant

PAGE ONE:

Frame One

Text:  The screaming horde falls on the Aldea with bloodthirsty fure ...

Soldier: Die, accursed Malayan!

Frame Two:

Text:  The Napkanese succeed in crushing the Malay resistance.  Puhao is captured and taken to meet Captain Hayakawa.

Frame Three:

Hayakawa: Did you really think you had the power to resist us?

Frame Four:

Puhao:  You kill the helpless creatures, and your soldiers pillage our homes.  How could we stay quiet?

Frame Five:

Hayakawa:  Gather all his people and then exterminate them for disobeying orders.

Puhao:  You monster!

Frame Six:

Hayakawa:  Give all these men 400 bushels of grain, 200 winches, and 20 young women.

Frame Seven:

Puhao: Have mercy on us!

Haykawa:  I have no mercy for you Malayan swine!

                                                                                    TO BE CONTINUED

(Thus ends Simba Part Two.  In the original Hispanic version, Fred is a big game hunter, but I couldn't bring myself to use the references to hunting in the story because it is an activity I detest, so I made him a treasure hunter instead.  The "Napkanese" are actually Japanese troops, but I changed that in this translation because I wanted to be politically correct, having learned of what happened when the Tintin book TINTIN IN THE CONGO was released in English for the first time last year.)
