I work in a library and came across this book in the discards the other day, "This Happened to Me!", published by Creative Publishing International.
It is a collection of one page stories that I presume were originally published in the magazine, Outdoor Life. According to the introduction it has been published therein starting in the 1940's.
The stories are of real life experience of an outdoorsman.
The artists that have done the strip are, Frank Hubbard, 40's & 50's, Carl Pfeufer, 50's, Sam Glanzman, 60's, Richard Amundsen, Gil Coehen, 70's, Ken Laager, 80's, Dennis Budgen, 90's.
I picked this up off a pile of books, thinking it was a bunch of written stories. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a collection of stories told in comic strip fashion. I was further surprised when I recognized Sam Glanzman hidden within!
I have always been a big fan of Mr. Glanzman, going way back to the Dell "Combat!" series that I got from my neighbors back in the early 70's.
Check it out if you get a chance!
