I am late for my weekly book and it's not a horror book at all, but at least it has Terror in the name...

TERRORS OF THE JUNGLE #10  Sept. 1954

i will be back with some real horror next week. Not much horror books left in my collection ,which are not already posted in the DCM, but it seems that there will popping up some missing  gruesome books in my mailbox in the near future,he,he

These STAR products are often bluff packages.
Screaming "Horror" and "Terror" on a fantastic cover (L.B. Cole of course) and inside it's... Rulah reprints or lame-o kiddie fare.
But welcome anyway. For today I'll throw in more of this:

CRIME MUST PAY THE PENALTY #21

@sundance: Wha...?!
You got your hands on some more horror books! I am very excited.
I've actually stopped looking on Ebay - it's just futile to find low priced precoders, even in poor condition.
I don't mind.

And everything must go!
So here another issue:

WAR HEROES #5

There's no Jimcard going with it, so here are my guesses:
Cover by Jim McLaughlin, first story mystery artist Rizzi/Pious, second story nice and pure McLaughlin, third story is strange (I see Charles Nicholas in it, but who else???), last story nice example for a pure Grudko at the height of his abilities, alas.

You're correct right down the line, Tillmann,
Definitely Nicholas pencils on third. Sy Grudko on fourth. The first remains a mystery.

Today we present more crime, of course.

CRIME MUST PAY THE PENALTY #20

I am baffled how GOOD Chic Stone looks in the lead story (in June 1951).
He's even slightly better than in his horror work from 1952 on.
There's a nagging suspicion in my head that he might be inking Mike Sekowsky here.
But that's probably just an attack of art spotting paranoia...

Sekowsky could have done the layouts if not full pencils. I think Sekowsky pencils would have shown through more

I'm usually the last one to look at the art, let along discuss it, and I certainly don't have the practice a lot of you do, but the figures in the panels don't seem to have enough "mass" to be Sekowsky.  I don't see any strain in the arms where people are leaning on things, the clothes look like they're floating rather than hanging, and even the panel with the guy being pushed, it's too static.

On the other hand, some of the faces do look sort of like his.

Thank you for your input, guys!

As you all may know, the latin word for misdeeds is "crimen" - which evolved into the english word CRIMINY!

Yoc, please work your magic!
With the upload of

WESTERN ADVENTURES #2

another Ace series is completed!

Nice book, by the way. Hot-blooded rawhide action, containing great artwork by Rudy Palais, Louis Zansky, King Ward et al.

Just had a very pleasant correspondence with a Lou-Cameron-fan from Atlanta, Georgia.
He sent me this picture:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/638/statonandcameron.jpg/
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/638/statonandcameron.jpg/

The gent in the back is LOU CAMERON, alive and well.
In the words of my "source":
"Lou Cameron is 91 years old, lives in New York, and is very lucid and, I hear, opinionated."

That's just fantastic.

(as I'm still too dumb to post a picture, someone of you administrators please fill it in...)
