erwin-k:
Circa 1971 I saw Bill L.'s appearance on the TV show What's My Line. I recognized his name, but the panelists sure didn't. His "Line" for the show was Courtroom Artist. I do not remember if any of his other work was mentioned. Don't think so.

A busy, talented man. Rest In Peace, sir.

OtherEric:
Harlan Ellison (May 27, 1934 - June 28, 2018) just passed away.  While he wasn't primarily a comic book writer, he did quite a few.

From everything I've heard about him it's probably better that I never met him.  But he wrote a lot of amazingly good stories.

Geo (RIP):
"Tick-Tock" is the one I remember him writing for comic books. I sure there are others too he did.

Yoc:
and he was a huge comics fan.  I saw him at a convention once.  He was a bit scary but funny and didn't suffer fools as they say.

erwin-k:
I met Harlan at two conventions in St. Louis, Missouri, in the late 1960's. I did not happen to see his angry side.

WorldCon 1969 was in St. Louis. Harlan was there, as he had been at a smallish local S-F con the year before.

At St. Louis Con he was peddling a fanzine-like booklet titled "The Kong Papers." On the second day of the con (I think) they screened King Kong in the main meeting room.

When Kong killed the T-Rex, from the back of the room came a huge yell of "Yea Kong! Yea Kong!!" It was Harlan, of course.
