Francisco Solano Lopez.
Very sad.  He did many much loved strips for U.K comics.

Not a comic creator, but Michael Hart was (or should have been) near and dear to all our hearts, here:

It could very well be that, without Project Gutenberg's example, we wouldn't see sites like this, the Petrucci Music Library (imslp.us and imslp.org), MusOpen, and probably a bunch of others I'm forgetting that make their name on freely supplying public domain material to a large community.

Very sad news John.
It's true a lot of PD sharing sites like us owe a lot to his early example.

As a Marvelman fan from way back, when all we could get here were British comics, I was particularly saddened to read this.  He did so much for British comics and gave so many young lads such great escapist entertainment.

I never cared for the "Miracleman" perversion of the other Marvel Family, but I did enjoy the few adventures of Marvelman, Young Marvelman, and Kid Marvelman I've been lucky enough to see. I'm also saddened by that news.

I Owe Les Daniels so much and if not for his excellent 'COMIX' sparking my interest in Golden Age Material I doubt that I would be on this forum today.

Before reading his book I thought that the only two comics publishers in the USA during the Golden Age were National and Timely but his book helped open my young eyes to the bigger picture.

Thanks Les, and RIP.

Robinson was one of the great artists of the golden age, and I'm sorry to see him go.
