Anyone Heard of Pot O' Gold Comics? (1950s)
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:30:22 AM »
Editing a Charlton from 1954 tonight and noticed on the splash page near the top where it lists the Charlton titles being published at the time a series called Pot O' Gold. The comic this was in was from March of 1954. I checked several other Charltons from that same month and noticed a couple of them had the same series listed, though a couple of the others from that same month did not. So, just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this title, or seen it? Maybe just as a listing in an old Overstreet? Any light shedding info would be awesome. :)

Fett I couldn't find anything on it, could you post a picture of the ad/splash for it please.
It could be one of those that was shown, but never was published.
It happened more then once.

The only place I've seen it advertised was at the top of page 3 of several Charlton comics from Mar-1954, most recently the Sweethearts 122 I just uploaded last night. The title of the book is mixed in with the other Charlton titles that were being published at the time.

OK I see it now, "Pot O' Gold" is not  comic book, it reads "Pot O Gold Lash Larue Western" just as it reads Science-Fiction Space Adventures a little below. There is no bullet point between the words "Pot O' Gold" and "Lash Larue Western". I hope this clears it up for you now.

Sorry but no I still don't see it. Why would you link Pot O' Gold with Lash LaRue?  :-/ The two titles are on separate lines of the listing, and none of the other title lines have bullet points after them either. Really was hoping for some info from some older Overstreets. I didn't buy an Overstreet until the late 80s and thought it might have been listed in some of the older ones with a listing questioning it's existence. My initial assumption was that it was just a planned title that was never published.

Pot O' Gold is not listed in the 1st edition of Overstreet, or in the 'Standard Catalog of Comic Books' (3rd ed by J.J. Miller, etc, 2004)

"Pot O' Gold" isn't listed in any of the three Overstreets I have at the house either.
