Like I said, over in the comments for the issue, I'd sure like to know the history of this issue.
Radar - the International Policeman was firmly anchored in the Fawcett universe. He' been introduced in a story with Captain Marvel in the Big Red Cheese's own book. His strip was introduced by Cap & Jr. on the Cover of Master Comics #50. He shared a few covers with Captain Marvel, Jr. and held down the cover circle for his run of about 38 issues. He even crossed over to Wow Comics to help set up the Phantom Eagle's post-war adventures.
And, somewhere along the way, Comics Novel #1 (and only) pops up. The issue has no ads & no post office required fillers. AFAIK, no publicity for the book mentioned Radar, whose strip fills the issue to overflowing.
Like DC's Showcase issue featuring the adaptation of the film Dr. NO, Comics Novel looks more like an issue of Dell's Four Color series.
