I wonder why the Green Turtle's face is completely obscured in EVERY single panel of this issue??  It's weird, all you see is the back of his head with the occasional completely obscured by shadows frontal view. In fact, what you can see on the cover (just his eyes) represents the closest thing to a full face shot!  Bizarre...

I initially noticed his face was entirely hidden on the splash panel and thought "that's odd for a splash page unless you're Fletcher Hanks..." then realized his face was nowhere to be seen in the entire story! LOL

Urban legend goes that the Green Turtle's creator, Chu Hing, wanted to make the Green Turtle a superhero of asian descent, which makes sense given he's always defending China. But the publisher disagreed, and presumably to preserve some degree of ambiguity about the Turtle's origins, Hing chose to never expose the Turtle's facial features. It's a pretty plausible hypothesis, given the times.
