Comment made at: Racket Squad 012I was just recalling the story of the singer/actor Russ Columbo, who died in an accident at the home of an artist friend. His mother was gravely ill, and she was never told of Russ's death for fear that the shock might kill her. Her husband wrote her letters in Russ's name for the next ten years, and she died in 1944.
