Prince Mobo, the villain of the story "They Fly by Night," is depicted here as a white explorer and not a native Afrikaner.  He is meant to be a mirror of Sheena - a native Afrikaner who has grown up in civilization.  Mobo is the son of Chief Abala.

I am English speaking but speak the Afrikaans language as well. Strange to see the language mentioned in an American comic !i
